Princess Lea

For all of you who knew of or met Princess Lea our dog from Boxer Rescue we wanted to give you an update. As most of you know, we discovered after having her for two months that she had breast cancer...and it had spread into a large mass pushing on her heart and trachea. Based on the size of the mass the doctors gave her a month to live. Well...they did not know the spirit or fight this little angel had in her. Last night at 6:30 pm Princess Lea passed away and joined her first owners who were elderly people in heaven. That's five months longer than the doctors gave her. She told us it was her time...she was starting to have difficulty breathing, and we did not want her to suffer. We were very fortunate and blessed to have this wonderful dog come into our lives. She showed us that we could love another creature just as much as we loved our first dog Jolee. She brought such life, fun, and pure joy to our lives everyday, she was such a blessing for us. This morning our home feels empty and quite, but yet we know it was the right thing to do. We were her pet guardians, better she be with us for those few months and not in the kennels at Boxer Rescue.

Please say a prayer for her, she was truly a gift from GOD, and we will deeply miss her. We hope that you will consider Rescuing a pet before purchasing or "owning" one. Being former "owners" of Jolee and then a guardian to Princess Lea...each experience was unique, but the love in Princess Lea's eyes when we took her home was priceless. She was so loving and grateful everyday...she made sure that we knew she loved us...and we made sure that she knew she was loved too.

Please see the photo slideshow of our sweet pea...Princess Lea.
