Mugsy - Sept 2005
I wanted to let Boxer Rescue know that we recently lost Mugsy, our beloved white boxer to cancer this past week. We adopted him from Boxer Rescue in 1996. We had a wonderful life with him over these past 10 years. We were lucky that he was in our lives for so long.
We recently helped out at the OC Pet Adoption Fair in April and it was wonderful to give time back to the rescue who brought us Mugsy. He was one of a kind at 90 lbs., all white with one brindle ear. Everywhere we went with him, everyone wanted to say hello to him. We called him our "Rock Star" because he attracted so much attention everywhere he went with us.
It has been a very difficult week for me and my husband. We were blessed to adopt Gracie, a boxer mix through a friend of the family a few months ago. She helps make the days and night a little easier for right now. We will never forget all the memories Mugsy gave us. He filled our lives with so much love and laughter. As hard as it is right now,I have peace knowing he went to Heaven in my arms and went without pain or suffering. I could not have asked for more in that moment.
Thank you again, for had it not been for Boxer Rescue LA we would have never experienced Mugsy's constant love and companionship. When time has healed our loss we may be in contact to add another boy to our family.
