Hi,

I wanted to let you know that we had to send Monte to the bridge yesterday.  This past week he started looking so tired.  My husband took off work on Friday just to spend the day with him because we knew the time was near.  On Monday he was whinnying all day and night.  He was starting to have trouble breathing and his gums and tongue were pale.  It was time.  We took him in yesterday and he went peacefully.

We are so grateful to have been able to be a part of his life and he, a part of ours for the last 3 years.  We had originally fostered him for Nor Cal, but fell in love and adopted him and his best friend Riggs.  Our other babies, Le, Sam, Riggs, Sadie and Otis are missing Monte. For the past three days L.E. had not left Monte's side.  Even though she is the youngest out of our bunch, she mothered him and took very good care of him.

This makes our third loss in 4 months.  Its so hard, but we will continue.  Knowing that Monte was happy these last three years makes it somewhat  bearable.
