Last Fall rescued by Allan, our faithful shelter volunteer in Westwood from the Animal shelter at a mature age of 10 and hard of hearing. (We have a soft spot for these seniors left at shelters....) She was a tuff little lady and wouldn't want to be matched with anyone of her piers, she wanted to be only queen. (that made it hard to foster her out...) but that all changed as time went by she mellowed out. Another volunteer David came along who wanted to give Lady MaryAnn a foster home and we were thrilled! She helped him barbecue and enjoyed being part of a home life again. However it was not meant to last very long, she started to limp on front leg. We rushed her to the vet. First visit to Dr. Krivoy she ended up with a steroid shot to see if that would help.... A week later she still limped and she went back today for x-rays and the sad truth of our suspicion was confirmed; BONE CANCER..... So we had to do what was best for her to alleviate any more suffering and she went to doggie haven peacefully this afternoon...... I want to thank everyone who came in contact and remembers this precious soul for making the difference in her short life with us, but she will be remembered for what she was; (feisty!) MARYANNE to us!
