LOVEBUG
We recently had a cancerous lump removed from our boxer LB. After many follow up visits (and running into BRLA volunteers at the vet), a few lumps have returned quickly. We're saddened by the finding but appreciate so much of our beautiful girl.
My wonderful white boxer LB is getting old. Old in boxer years. Her age is estimated at 8.5-9 yrs old. And we were told when we adopted her, their life expectancy is not much beyond that.
She shakes and wiggles when you walk through the door to greet her. And she greets you with many leaps and barks. This has come to be known as her dance. Fellow boxer owners call it a 'kidney bean' dance. It resembles a mexican jumping bean almost... leaping away from you while shaking her nub tail and looking back all at the same time. She prances back and forth, just for your enjoyment and laughter.
She is not just special because we own her. She lived a life very different from the one we have given her in the past 4 years (almost). I hate to imagine what she went through. Being bred despite her coloring and then dumped at the pound. We have made sure to let her live it up because she deserves and has earned it.
From long naps on the couch with lots of snuggle time to trips to wide open fields in Half Moon Bay to lounging about during our weeks of camping. She was reborn the day we adopted her to live another life.... full of sheer dog joy.... as she catches everyones attention where ever she goes.
Intimidating at first, but nothing but sweetness from her old soul once she has broken you in with a kiss. Kids? She loves them. So protective, she'd set you straight cause those are her babies. She lives on to be the queen she is. Strong and fierce.
As we are helping and guiding her along in life's transition we can't help but stop and think.
We love you Love Bug..... can we have another 8?
Muchos besitos, my little girl...
