TRIBUTES: LOUIE

Louie(Lo-Lo Bell)

My senior parents adopted Lou-Lou from Boxer Rescue about 4 years ago.  He probably only had 1/100th of boxer in him, but he was the perfect dog for my parents and it was a match made in heaven.

Lou-Lou was skinny, mangy, and not real responsive to people.  He didn't know how to play.  It took my parents a couple of months but Lou-Lou turned into a real porker.  My son's and I counted his "talking" toys and the last count was about 25.  He loved any toy that made a noise, expecially the cow that moo-ed.

Lou-Lou had 2 big beds...one in front of the fireplace with his basket full of toys and the other in my parents bedroom.   He had to be wrapped in a blanket and tucked in.  If the blanket came off during the night, he would woof low until one of my parents got up and tucked him in.  My mom said it was because he was cold all the time.  But I suspect my parents tucked him in when they first got him, and Lou-Lou thought, "hey, this is quite the good deal".

All the family, including his extended family, feel a piece of our hearts missing with his passing.  He was much older than realized, and during the last 6 months his health failed him.

Thank you for the gift of Lou-Lou Bell!  I've attached his Christmas picture.  As you can see, he overcame his skinny problem.
