TRIBUTES: ABBY

Abby - 06/13/2005

Abby came to Boxer Rescue after being turned in to the shelter because she was no longer able to produce litters. She was enslaved for many years just to produce puppies for
human gain. We picked her up she had nipples that hung the size of goat teats.

She had gum tumors, bad teeth and personality that never had a bad day. Enthusiasm was her
middle name. When she first went into foster; of course with all her enthusiasm; tried to walk on water twice until she realized she was not a lab and hated water (pool).

She would sit in the backyard and her eyes would light up just to see and experience nature for the first time. She was fascinated with the birds, trees, people; she was extremely wide eyed on her first trip to the mountains for a hike. It was such a revelation for her just to get to experience nature at all.

She never asked for a thing. She was happy to have anything in her life and she never let you pass by without an attempt to show her gratitude. She only had 17 months out of bondage and she cherished every day. She could make you laugh. She would trip on her own paws when she walked. She would be looking so intently at anything and everything on our walks that she would forget she needs to look forward as to avoid running into things.

She would snore so loudly at night you would think you were in a wood milling company. You could have a million cushy beds in the room and she thinks your lap is the most comfortable. She would just have to look at you . . . her big bulging eyes, her hanging jowls, that cute little turned up nose and the slobber she always left on you whenever you got near.

I pray someday that I could greet each day through her eyes and her appreciation of life. She was a friend not only to me but to Spanky and she will be missed.

All of love to you Abby; you are a good girl.
