I have two boxers: Newman (fawn, almost 2, raised from a pup) and Jake (brindle, 5, rescued from Arizona Boxer Rescue)....they are the best of friends and good brothers....do you guys ever need volunteers or foster homes for pups, until a permanent one is found??? Regards, M

I asked my sister Marie, and my niece Nicole to accompany me to the Boxer Rescue to meet Ursula and try to adopt a boxer. I have a female fawn named Sophie and I adore her. I have lost three boxers previously due to to illness and injury. My last one to pass was Lady who was 15 years old. Sophie was used to having another sibling, and I wanted another "baby".
When we walked in the gate we met Ursula. She was very kind and I explained my situation to her and she was great! Meanwhile, my sister got "cornered" and pinned by this brindle puppy full of tar on his body. My sister told me that this was the dog for me and my partner Bardo. I was not sure so I kept on looking, walking, and introducing other boxers to my Sophia. All the while my sister insisted that I look no further and take the dog which she had nicknamed "Tar", home. I finally took "Tar" for a walk. He ran upto me, sat on me and I fell in love. He was the dog for us. My five year old niece named him Sqeaker (she did not like "Tar"). He is a loving, loyal companion for Sophie, Bardo and I. We love him very much. I thank Ursula for all her help. I also thank my sister for knowing that this was the dog for me. I also thank my niece Nicole because without knowing him she picked out the right name. Squeaker doesn't bark. He "squeaks & Squeals".

We are interested in adopting a female boxer in the future to help entertain and befriend my other boxer. We prefer a fawn with white markings in the face. I would also consider a brindle female to play with the fawn I own.

Hello Ursula it is me Glenn Ramos ( I just recently lost my best friend Clancy who I adopted from you three years ago) I just wanted to say hi and find out about volunteering some time with you and your charges. I also have a fairly good sized contribution to give you on behalf of my studio (Rhythm and Hues Studio, we are an academy award winning digital animation and effects house best known for the Babe movies and the Coca Cola polar bear commercials) in Clancy's name. The People at my studio did an incredibly touching and compassionate act by taking up a collection for me to be able to adopt a new Boxer once I feel the timing is right. The balance will go to the rescue. This collection/contibution came from my fellow artist, IN ADDITION I found out that the studio is going to make a seperate contribution (amount unknown) in Clancy's name!!!!! I work with the most incredible people and Rhythm and Hues is an amazing studio. I was presented with this yesterday (Tue. 12th) evening and I must say that I was moved to tears.
Talk to you soon Glenn
When i was growing up my uncle worked for the "dreaded dog pound" he was the Evil ( so i thought evil at the time) Dog Catcher. He proved me wrong when one day he called my dad to see if we wanted 2 boxer dogs that were in need of love and a home. One day his department got a call from the local police dept. regarding animal cruelty. The Police were at a home doing a drug bust and found 2 boxer dogs near death. The 2 dogs had been tied to a tree and were full of open sores from being kept tied to the tree and living in their own excrement. they were very skinny due to malnutruion. Of course my father had his doubts about the dogs since he had young children and were afraid they might be mean due to the abuse the dogs had suffered. Well sad to say one of the dogs did not make it. But the other came to live with us and with much care and love became the best dog we ever had. Pudgy (as we named her) was the most loving protective dog we ever had. And to this day I have been a true lover of boxers. I hope to adopt one into my family soon.
Would love to adopt have cattle ranch lots of open space very few neighbors.
Please let me know the nearest place I could go to adopt. I am about 50 miles east of Dallas, Texas.
Thank You jmmayo

Great site! I was browsing, looking at boxer sites and found your organization. Are there any in the southeast? My husband's family has raised boxers for 30 years and I fell in love with them when I met him. I had to have my favorite boy put to sleep a few months ago and dearly love and miss him. Stormy
I have never enjoyed A dog, as much as our Bandit. we all love him.
Hi I am currently looking for a baby boy ( in the form of a boxer). I grew up with boxers. When I read Jennifer's story it realy hit me in my soft spot. When I was 11 my boxer had puppies. We kept one and named him Weezer. He was a wonderful little guy. When he turned about a year old he started having breathing problems and one day he collapsed and had a seizure. We took him to the vet and found out he had an enlarged heart(in more than one way.) There was nothing that could be done and he was only going to suffer untill he died. He was put to sleep that day. About 6 years later his mom started having hip problems. She eventually lost control of all of her bodily functions and was put to sleep also. That was 3 years ago and to this day it still breaks my heart. I hope that when I get my boxer it will fill that hole just like it did Jennifer's.
Hey... After an extended biz trip in LA and much research on the breed, I found Ursula and BoxeRescue. Adopted Ruby- Tuesday in April of 1998 and she flew back to NY with me as a gift to my husband. What a JOY this dog is in our life! A small, well trained fawn about 3-4 years at adoption... she had some initial health problems due to neglect, but has bounced back beautifully. She is now our poster child not only for the breed, but for people thinking of adopting an adult dog. Thanks BoxerRescue LA!
