My husband and I, along with our 3 kids have 5 boxers. They are as much a part of our family as I am! Our oldest son, in the Air Force has 1 of his own. If we can help in any way, please let us know! thank you for your devotion to the breed.

I just wanted to thank you all for the hard work and effort you put in to saving Boxers. My fiancee and I adopted a beautiful girl Boxer from you last May. When we came to the park in Encino on a Saturday morning, we saw just how full of energy some of the Boxers were and were afraid that our townhouse would not be big enough for one of them. However, our hearts were stolen when we happened upon this smaller than average boxer tied to one of the parking meters. She was somewhat skinny, but when we walked up to her, and she started giving us "kisses", we knew she would be going home with us that day. I can happily say that Mugsy has been one of the best things that has happened to the both of us. She is the sweetest, most loving dog I have ever known (not to mention the most spoiled). How anyone could have given up such a sweet dog I do not know. However, I sure am glad that I've had the opportunity to bring her into my life. Again, you all are wonderful for the work you do.

Sincerely, Bonnie Behlendorf

I agree that Boxers are different from other breeeds. I bought a Boxer from a guy who didn't want her because she was a girl. I could see how mistreated she was just by looking into her eyes. I gave her to my boyfriend since the Boxer he had before had disappeared. Now, two years later, I can see that buying her was the best thing I could have done. She is like a child--loving and playful. No matter what type of trouble she gets into, you can't help but to laugh at her. She is much more than a pet--she's my daughter. I'm glad that someone has created an association especially for Boxers that can provide help for them since they are so often mistreated.

IS THERE ANY DIFFERENCE IN THE ATTITUDE/DEMEANOR OF MALE AND FEMALE BOXERS? IS ONE EASIER TO TRAIN THAN THE OTHER? I DON'T HAVE A PREFERENCE, JUST CURIOUS... ARE THERE ANY REASONS NOT TO OWN A BOXER? I WANT TO BE A GOOD "PARENT". HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO ADOPT/RESCUE A BOXER?

I sit here with tears streaming down my face as I read about George....thank God for Boxer-loving people. My husband and I have an 8 year old female Boxer, Shelby, and we just adopted a 10 month old male named Dexter from the Boxer Rescue League of Minnesota. He was going to be put down because he had chewed up some of his previous owners children's toys. His breeder just happen to be making follow-up calls on her litter when Dexter's owners told her of their plans to put him down. The breeder jumped into her car, drove 3 hours strait, and picked Dexter up and took him to the rescue league. We came and got him 3 days later. He is the most wonderful, loving and loyal dog we could ever have asked for and Shelby and our two children, ages 2 and 3 couldn't love him more!!

Hi All! My husband and I have a 1 1/2 year old boxer male. He is a brindle/white beauty. My twin girls are in love.(they think that he is their brother, just as well) I was reading over your page and was happy to see a rescue so close to us. I was at the Chatsworth animal shelter yesterday and was oh so tempted to take home a beautiful male that was turned in by the owner. Hope you or somebody else can save him! I'm glad that rescues like yours exist... :-)
