We adopted "Lance" this past Saturday and I am so pleased with him. He could possibly be THE perfect dog for our family and lifestyle. He is calm, obedient and is great with my children. He seems so completely happy and contented with us and is now getting a lot of exercise and love. THANK YOU for all your help! The Sever Family
I will be looking for a Boxer, in the next few months, due to having to put my boxer (Lucy) of 5-years down, due to cancer. Thanks Giovanni
I am just looking at the moment. My dalmation (female)and (totaly devoted) is aging, and the need for me to window shop is kicking in.
Hi.. I am writing for a friend that needs to find a home for her female boxer. I belive a home with active young adults would be good for her... She is a mahogany female with black mask. She is spayed and just beautiful...For more info emai me... I want to help my friend find a home for Ginger and not resort to the animal shelter. Thanks for your help.
I absolutely love the breed. I love mixes as well. My family and I had a Boxer/Lab mix for over ten years until she died of kidney failure. She was like my little sister and I miss her terribly. My mom still cries for her almost daily, we put her to sleep almost 2 years ago. We miss her so much. You guys do a great job. When my mother decides it's time for another dog she will definetly adopt from Boxer Rescue LA!
I love you webpage...im so happy the someone has a site devoted to boxer dog's...I have 1 my self...he is a male and his name is Windsor he's about 2 years old. Late last summer I was walking him and he got away from me....he got hit by a car and broke his 2 front legs. The good thing is that he is still alive and has no problems walking around anymore. YEAH!!
they are beautiful animals, very smart and easy to train, you just have to love them.
We adopted Sugar about two months ago and it was quite tough the first two weeks. She was super skinny, had just been spayed and during the spaying the vet realized she was pregnant, nevertheless her hormones were out of whack. It took her about one month to housebreak too (we came home to little presents left on the floor) Sugar came to live with my two children, a 115 lb german shephard and a 15 lb maltese. She gets to sleep on her own spot on the couch, curls up anywhere and everyone and is so bouncy and bendy it is hilarious. She makes these weird snorty noises when she gets excited. Boxers are really special dogs, and I didn't believe that until we got Sugar.
My husband and I are in our 50s. We just recently lost both of our Rotts, one was 11 and the other 10. I had a boxer as a child, and she was always my favorite pet. I have always thought one day I would get another one. My husband is grieving the loss of our dogs, and I know we have to get another soon. I visited your site just to look. I appreciate the work you are doing.
This site is great. Everyone keep up the good work. The dogs count on you and from the stuff I have seen they are the happiest dogs on this planet.
I'm very interested in adopting a couple of boxer mixs as soon as our new home is complete. It's a beautiful country home just waiting for a couple of lively boxers to fill the house with love. I was fortunate to share a short time with my life with a boxer mix. I will fill out your adoption page as soon as I feel I am ready to adopt.
Looking for a Boxer 1 year or younger
I loved this website. I just lost my beautiful boxer Tini just hours before her 9th birthday. I miss her so much. She was the love of my life. She was my partner. When I'm ready, I will consider adoption. The info about the breed said it all. Thanks.
i think boxer dogs are cute
Been looking for someone out there to help with the stray and "unwanted" animals out there, and am glad to see you're there! Awesome breed, might contact you in the future, when we're ready to commit to a new 'baby'!! Keep it up!!
Garfield is so cute. Wish him the best of luck!!!
I've never owned a pet, but my 9 year old daughter is taking me up on an offer I made to her years back. She loves animals, we could never have one because we lived in an apartment. My promise to her was that when we got our own house I would get her a dog. Well, she didn't forget, we got our house a couple of months ago and she's driving my crazy everyday asking when we'll be getting one. My friend has a boxer and she recommended them to us. I have terrible allergies to cats, and need to find out if boxers will affect me. Otherwise, I'm ready to make my daughter's wish come true. Do you have any comments?
I have just moved to Los Angeles From Sydney Australia, and am in the process of bringing my boxer Leeroy over in the next few weeks. He is three and a half years old and I know that the flight and move will shake him so I am looking to adopt a female boxer to keep him company and chat with. I was so delighted to find this boxer rescue site that I now look up every day with such excitement and passion to know that there are such wonderful people out there loving the most loving breed...the boxer!
Derek: The link to Derek dickson/Wbmaster is broken or not functional. Furthermore, I have attempted to get BRLA to change the picture of "BETH" (Loving Seniors) to a much better picture. So far to no avail. The picture displayed on the web site is lousy to say the least and the description that goes with it is without inspiration. This dog will never be placed based on the info displayed on the site. Can you chane that deplorable situation or do I have to hack into your site to effect a change? Peter
I just foundout your websit today by 1 of my costomers. I think s great what your doing for this dogs. I wish you good luck and once I get extra money I'll make a donation. but for right now I'll keep looking for the dog I'm loking for. Ivan
Two years ago, we got our first Boxer, Emma. She is a beautiful brindle and is excellent with my three sons! I wasn't a "dog person" until we got her, now I consider her the little girl that I will never have. She loves to camp with us, she thinks she is a lapdog when we sit around the campfire! When my children are sick, she is right by their side "mothering" them. Everyone gets a kick out of her riding shotgun in our Suburban when I take the kids to school. She is so much a part of our family, I can't imagine life without her. We are considering either adopting or fostering another Boxer as a companion for Emma and just because we love the breed so much! We tell everyone how great they are, especially with kids. Alot of people mistake her for a mean dog because of her "ferocious" stature and goofy tooth-out look, but I always let them know that she is the biggest teddy bear ever!
i cant believe what happened to these dogs well i hope they get homes one day so l8r
Hey, i love your site! i'm 11... almost 12 and i LOVE boxers. i have one at my house. her name is ginger. I kinda spoil her, so she's trying to loose weight right now... hehe. if you get this comment i need you to e-mail me right away and maybe you'll know the answer to this question... Most dogs bark or howl... how come boxers whine and try to poke you? i know that may be why they got their name... but i need to ask you! thanks a bunch, Colleen McElroy e-mail: PinkPanther6831@comcast.net
BRLA is the tops. That's how we met Clyde aka Clark. He's a great dog!
I enjoyed reading the stories and viewing the protraits. Thanks for the information that was given for keeping your boxer cool, and avoiding heat exhuastion. We moved up to the high desert last year and I noticed my boxers having a hard time cooling down even while they were indoors. I am also considering adopting a beautiful bouncy bundle of love...a boxer. I have a few questions and concerns about bring in a new boxer in my boxers. Thanks, Monica
I've had three boxers in my life and I don't think there is a better dog. I'm thinking about getting another boxer and my girl friend said adoption would be the best thing, to give it a second chance at a good home.
Just wanted to see how things were coming along with Bell and Goliath. We really miss them both. They were great Boxers!
Oh how I miss those days at Boxer Recue L.A.! I left CA in 1997 after having done voluntery work for Boxer Rescue L.A. taking my two Boxers (Buddy 11 years and Cleo 8 months) with me to Germany, which I fostered and then adopted from the BRLA. Buddy was a great dog!! ALthough he had already had 6 previous owners and had been badly abused (not only physically, but also psychologically) he was the best I have ever had!!! Cleo is now 7 and a half. A wonderful dark brindle, whom we rescued along with her mother and aunt from an abusive breeder. She is starting to get her first health problems (heart, arthritis, retina detachment), but still is her cheery, smiling, silly self. Playing, jumping and sleeping. To all of you volunteering for those wonderful Boxers: THANKS!!! I miss you guys a lot!!! If ever I get a chance to go home again, be sure I will come and visit. You better hide those Boxers then, 'cos I don't know how many I will adopt when I see them - how many dog crates do you figure go on a plane ; ) ... All the best from Germany, Munich! Yvonne and Cleo
I have been considering getting a boxer. I am used to having two dogs. In August I had to put my German Sheppard to Sleep - I had her for over 10 years and she was my best friend. I have another dog Toad he is 13 years old and I have always spoiled him. This is the first time he has been the only dog. My Groomer advised me not to get a boxer - he thinks they do not get along with other breeds. I also have a cat. My dogs have the run of the house and the yard. My landlord thinks I should get another dog before its Toads time to go live with god - which just the thougth of that breaks my heart - Toad is very codependent - he and my 4 1/2 year old son are the men of the house and I have become very codependent on my dog for companionship and security - He is a true prince. I am looking to resuce a boxer and a German Sheppard in the future - what do you suggest. I do not want a puppy all I want is a friend that I can walk and who is house broken and gets along with other dogs and my cat. I am not perfectley behaved all the time therfore I do not expect my dogs to be - besides my dogs have always been part of the family and my best friends.
THANKS FOR PROVIDING A SITE SO I CAN FIND THE PERFECT BOXER FOR MY FAMILY, I'M SO EXCITED TO ADOPT, I JUST CAN'T WAIT....THANKS ALOT!!
looking for a female boxer to adopt

AND, WHEN PRETZEL LEFT ME, MISS PENNY LANE. I HAVE PROMISED JOHN A LETTER ABOUT THIS AND APPOLIGIZE FOR MY TARDYNESS. LETTER TO FOLLOW SOON. HOWEVER, SEVERAL OF MY FRIENDS HAVE AGREED TO SIGN UP FOR THE RALPH'S PROGRAM. SOME DO NOT HAVE INTERNET ACCESS AND WILL NEED TO MAIL YOU THEIR APPLICATIONS. WHERE SHOULD THEY MAIL THEIR APPLICATIONS? YOUR PERSONEL AND MY "GIRLS" HAVE HELPED ME MORE THAN I CAN EXPRESS. ALSO, I AM CREATING A VIDEO FILE ON MISS LANS CURRENT ACTIVITIES WHICH I WILL SEND TO YOU. SINCERELY, TREY
Please NEVER take me off your fabulous website list!! Will be making small donation - pharmaceuticals take most of our disposable income for the present!! Dear Hubby still very, very ill. How ever things go in near future, by hook or crook, I will get at least ONE (maybe 2??) awesome (as my daughter calls our Cooper-Sweetie - who I rescued & now lives with my daughter, son-in-law & super grandbabies) BOXER!! Problem is that Cooper-Sweetie KNOWS he is a "human" and doesn't like doggies himself - isn't that a Kick in the Head!! Every month or 6 weeks or so, he comes up to visit "Mommy 1" (that's me) for several days to cheer me up, play & "box" with me!! Please tell JOHN (your wonderful volunteer), I'll be looking forward to again saving MY own Cooper-Sweetie in future - one who is my VERY OWN Anti-depressant!!! Rickie Santell.
