I can't say enough about BRLA. I wish I were closer so I could volunteer to be with these special guys! I love our boxer "Rufus" and I never tire of telling anyone who will listen how we got him and how his blindness has taught us so much.
I would like to volunteer at a kennel or shelter, foster-assist (I cannot have dogs where I live)and assist with adoption placement if possible. I have had four years experience with this breed. I owned two boxers before moving to California, and found an excellent foster home for them through boxer rescue in Ohio. I would like to return the favor and stay involved with this breed.
You are doing the lords work. Taking animals and saving them from the unspeakable. Living in an apartment now, but Boxer Rescue will be my first call when I get a home. . . . There is nothing better than seeing two beautiful animals in your home every day with more love than you can handle. Keep it up!!!!!
great site we visit it often
Something I learned about boxers is that they are prone to eye ulcerations that may require surgery to correct because of genetic flaws. The surgery cost about $1000. Our Roxy is recovering from this surgery right now. I just read the newsletter. Very enjoyable. I'm so in love with boxers. Keep up the good boxer dog work.
Where did you get this lovely dog's name? Kayna the human
Thank you so much for providing a resource for adopting a Boxer. I hope I find a new friend for life!!
Great pictures. planning to adopt one myself
This is the first time I have been to this website. I really like Boxers I have been tying to buy one but in White. I haven't found any.
Love browsing through your rescue info and pictures and your adoption stories several times a week. Of course being in New Zealand I am not able to adopt from you when I do butI would LOVE to be able to!!! Judging by your great feedback and support you have an awesome sight and are doing an excellent job!!! Keep it up and "smiles" from NZ!!!
I live in Anaheim. Would like to come and check out the boxers. Am ready to adopt. Prefer male, older. I like Angus, Pierre and Suki. Are they still available. Could I come see them??? 714-4900800 or e-mail me back
My wife and I are interested in viewing your facility for possibly adopting a boxer or pair. I have completed an application last year and visited on a Sunday but its been about a year and if I am required to complete another application, please direct me with the file. After the application is completed, maybe we can come and visit your facility and look over the candidates for adoption. thank you and looking forward to hearing from you. Mr. & Mrs. M. Hi my family and i are looking for another boxer. We got one from you about three years ago and now we think we are ready for another one.
Five months ago my (then fiancé) husband and I moved into a new home with a huge garden 1200 square metres, beautiful lawn, huge trees. We have a beautiful black labrador called Ben and decided it was time for him to get a sister. I scoured all the newspapers and came across an add for boxer puppies. Growing up on a farm I was only used to Labbies and Alsatians and my husband convinced me that a boxer would suit us perfectly. I chased him off the next day to go and fetch our white puppy and I was thrilled when he came home and put her in my lap. For some or other reason I decided to do a search on the internet the next day on white boxer pups and was appalled to find out that they are killed by birth. I have read all the arguments for and against and I feel sickened by society and the so-called boxer standard. I completely agree with the article on this website stating that breeders should take responsibility for the puppies they breed, especially since 25% of boxers are born white. I am one of the lucky ones though, my Milla can hear and smell and see and she is the most wonderful dog I have ever had. Lively and energetic. I actually heard of a home-made remedy to keep a white boxer in pristine condition and it's coat healthy - apparently one should buy a tub of fat (as in pig's fat) and mix in a spoon of flowersulphur (can be bought in most chemist shops). You should give the dog a spoonful every morning and also rub this on any scrapes etc on the coat. Well, that is my two cents. In South Africa culling is still practised. Most breeders as well as vets want to know where I bought my puppy from whenever they see her, not amused. Hopefully we can restore the white boxer to its former glory somewhere in the nearby future.
I love cruizing through your website and reading everything, especially the happy endings. All those faces though that need homes....wish I could take them all!! You're doing a great job finding forever loving homes for these children, keep it up!! Maryann

Your web-site is great.. Our family is a boxer family..We just lost our best friend of 14 years "dutchess". We have had many boxers and they are the greatest.. What you are doing is wonderful.I would love to be involed in something like this.. We will be looking for a new friend soon and will be checking out adoption.........
What a wonderful site, I have spent hours surfing it with tears in my eyes reading some of the stories. When I was 7yrs 1980 old my parents surprised my brothers and I with a boxer puppy called Biffo. We lived in a small village on the south coast of Ireland, this was Biffo's playground..the whole village. He was great! He was a pillow while watching TV, he was a horse,he was a face cleaner...a best friend, those boxer farts...silent but violent..as kids we loved playing hide and seek in the barley fields in the Autumn, all the village children would hide and Biffo would come bouncing through the barley to find us...he looked so funny bouncing through the barley field ...that was 24yrs ago and I still miss him. Unfortunatley times were tough then and my mum couldn't afford to feed us and the dog ..so he went to the Cats and Dogs home in County Cork, I was heartbroken.I'll never foget him...luckily a Boxer-loving-farmer from County Clare adopted him and took him home(his Boxer had recently been killed by a car) he was the happiest man for finding Biffo. I was devastated having lost my best friend.I will definetly adopt a boxer as soon as I move to a dog friendly living environment. Keep up the good work @ BRLA ... they truly are wonderful dogs
That is a sad and beautiful story. I am glad that you were able to make the last few days of canyon safe and loving for him. No animal deserves that kind of treatment. I am also glad that my aunt Karen was able to help... God Bless
i am looking for a boxer puppy perferrably a female that is being given away
thanks i love animals
I had to ask a Boxer rescue group to place my Boxer a few short years ago because I wasn't able to keep her at the time. I would someday like to repay that goodness by fostering and or adopting. I had Boxers all through my life and would like one again, they are wonderful dogs. I am particularly fond of the "whites"
I HAVE RESCUED TWO BOXERS. ONCE RECENTLY DIED A SUDDEN DEATH AT AGE 2 FROM CARDIOMYOPATHY. ANYONE WHO KNOWS ANYTHING ABOUT CARDIOMYOPATHY PLEASE CONTACT ME. I HAVE READ AS MUCH INFO AS I COULD FIND BUT I AM ALWAYS WILLING TO KNOW MORE. ONCE YOU HAVE A BOXER YOU NEVER GO BACK. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!
Thanks so much for the info on white boxers. Your story is lovely. I am about to adopt a white boxer from a local shelter. She was brought in as a stray is extremely sweet. I am not sure whether she is deaf or not. She seems to cock her head when I make funny noises so I think she isn't but should she be I will need all the info I can get on living with one. She didn't get upset or scared when I came up behind her. She let children pet her and pull on her so I'm thinking possibly she isn't deaf. We will see. If you have any thoughts please let me know. Thanks again.
We just lost our most perfectest, beautiful, loving Boxer, Jewell, to an inoperable brain tumor on June 14, 2004. Our house feels so very empty. I am looking for another Boxer, preferrably a puppy. I will keep searching your site. Thanks for recognizing just how special Boxers are...
I have an 18 month old neutered male-Champ. I got him as a puppy and taught him sign language. He is great! I put a colar with bells on it when he was a pup, but no need, he was and is about two steps behind me at all times when I am home from school. If I am gone for several hours, I just point to his kennel and he gets in. I just reward him with a treat. My husband and I are enjoying his antics and continually make us laugh a the end of a long day. Of course he doesn't bark at every little sound, but he has his own ways of being a "guard dog". The grandsons love him too and tell everyone that his ears are "broken." We are thinking of getting another.
We sent an adoption form so hopefully we will become owners soon!!!
help I found a fawn boxer at the antelopevalley animal shelter that was adopted then later returned because childs father didn't want large dog. His name is Oscar very friendly with people number for shelter is 661-940-4191
You are doing a great job! Thank you.
Geoff, Jutta, Christine and Nick are the proud owners of 2 new Boxers and so I am gramma to two new guys. We have had Boxers for years and love them dearly. They are Tyson and Hazel. Hazel is still a little ill, but are thriving with all the attention. Our first Boxer was a rescued pup and all the rest were his progeny, except for our last, and she was an abused pup. Keep up the good work. Barb
