Thank you for this wonderful web site. I LOVED the article by Ann Gilbert. Our Frazier is everything she says. He loves his family and is completely spoiled. I can't wait till the end of my work day to get home to him. Regardless of how I feel his wiggle butt greeting fills my heart with joy. There is nothing like a boxer!

I got my second boxer MIMI formely know as mrs. buster about a year ago. I have never been so happy. It was totally fate that brought us together I was there the whole day and saw a lot of boxers but none were as high energy as I am. I was talking to Ursula and there she was she had just been dropped of from the pound. I could not belive my eyes she was spunky with the sweetes eyes. She had been really abused. I wanted to take her home that same night the only problem is that she was not fixed so she came home with me three days later. At first she was shy and scared but by the third day she was back to being spunky. Now she is the queen of the castle. She loves to play with my other boxer and spends all her time lounging on my bed and watching tv, but as soon as I get home she is ready to have fun, go for her afternoon walk and play fetch till my arm goes numb. She has been a blessing. My reasons for getting a boxer were because I had lost my first boxer girl due to a car accident. At that time I was really sad and depressed. My boyfriend and I were having problems and it did not seem to get better. Buster our male boxer was the only thing keeping me company and I really missed my female boxer. My boyfriend thought that he needed to get me a new dog but I was not up to it. I decided why are you going to get me another puppy when I just want to give a dog that has no home a home. I went on line filled out the paper work and the rest is history. Thank you for everything. Katia Cruz

We have adopted two boxers since 1992. We lost our first rescue (male) in 1999, but our second we acquired in 2000(female), and she is still with us. Both have been superb pets, and we'll adopt again!

I haven't viewed your site yet, but will after I send this. Hello to all the boxer lovers of the world. I am not in position to foster or adopt right now. As soon as I am I will let you know. My boy Drac is 8 years old. What a joy it has been owning a boxer. To anyone thinking of adopting, you will never want to live without a boxer once you have owned one! Good Luck to all considering adoption. Your lives will be truly enriched because of it. Thank you Ursula for caring for these wonderful beings. Thanks to all of the boxer lovers who support this wonderful rescue... with love and admiration, Barbara and Drac (big smile)

Hi, I just lost my boxer "Champy" after 12 short years. At this point I travel a lot and I am not over the pain of my loss so I am not ready for adoption yet but I would like to volunteer at a local facility. I love Boxers and in time will adopt again. They are the most special dogs around. Julie

My fiance and I lost our Mingus to cancer last month. He was a two year old pure breed boxer. He was the most wonderful baby boy anyone could ever have. If you have the time, patience, and love for dogs a boxer is a wonderful choice. They are so loving and full of life. Adopting a boxer is a wonderful gift for you and the dog. You will never miss out on love, they give plenty. They do require lots of time and excerise so make sure that you really want to give of your extra time, first. Thank you

Hello! My husband is a heavy equip. operator currently working on a job in Riverside, CA. A stray boxer has shown up on the job. When he first came around, he was a "bag of bones," according to my husband. All the guys were feeding him their sandwiches or whatever else he'd eat. Finally, someone brought a bag of dog food, and my husband has taken over the role of feeding him every day. The dog is a little over a year, but not quite two. My husband has fallen in love with him, as he is quite friendly. If we didn't already have a dog and a cat, we'd bring him to our home to live with us. But, our dog, being 11, and our cat, being 13, probably would not appreciate a newcomer. The job is going to finish up in a couple of weeks, and my husband is heartsick about the future for "Buddy," as he has been affectionately named. If there is anyone interested in a free, beautiful, friendly, male boxer, please email us directly. Thank you!

Thank you to the Boxer Rescue for bringing Georgy into our life. Georgy is a very happy 7-month old lovable creature who settled right in. His life is good at our house: he always has company, goes on walks daily, to the beach on weekends, gets many hugs and caresses and is growing strong and healthy. Everybody loves Georgy because he has the friendliest personality and is very handsome. Georgy is trying to be friend with our cat but Penny is a bit of a snob. She'll come around!

We purchased a wonderful white pup in the spring. Afterword the breeder kept mentioning that she wished the remaining littermate (a deaf, white boy)had as good a home. Who could resist! We came to a deal on him too and arranged to bring him home. They are the 5th and 6th boxers we have had over the past 25 or so years. We are a little old for one year old twins but are they worth the time and energy. Patch (the hearing boy)is the first boxer we have ever had who loves to retreive and who loves the water. Gizmo is more of a snuggle bum than most (believe it or not) and is the love of my life. Our wonderful vet suggested tying them together for ball and frisby and that is what we do. We use a 40' light nylon training lead and they have a blast. Patch has already finished basic obedience and now Gizmo and I are going. He is learning his hand signals very well because he is sooo smart. The moral of our story is...one boxer is good but two are better and don't be afraid of the deaf thing. With some basic safety precautions it's a non-issue.

We have had three boxers as part of our family for 35 years. There is no greater dog and we are still mourning the passing of our last boy, Fritz, in May. He was the best natured and sweetest dog that ever lived. He looked scary and had a loud bark so no one would challenge him, but he was just a marshmallow underneath. We loved him so much.

We adopted a male boxer from BRLA in October 2002 and we just adopted another in August 2003. They are our spoiled rotten brats and we love them to death. I'm so glad that we came across this site last year and think that Ursula and everyone at BRLA are wonderful people. I can't believe there are so many sick people that would do the rotten things that some of them do to dogs. It's people like Ursula and BRLA that brings hope, happiness and a second life to so many boxers. Once you have spent time with a boxer, you'll soon realize that they are the best most unique breed around. Keep up the great work.
