I just read what you had said about owning a boxer. I have a 3month old boxer named max. Till Max i had never had a boxer. I love this dog he acts like he understands everything.even when he gets in trouble he knows before I ever have to correct him. I just wanted to say that I agree on what you have said about this breed and I glad their are people out there like you that look out for their best intest.

Ursula- Although I'm sure you have long forgotten, in November of 1995 as a new resident of CA, I acquired Zeke from you. (I'd never had a boxer before, but after researching the breed; I concluded that it was the "right breed for me".) Zeke was a large, beautiful, brindle boxer who dragged me around the park when we first met. Initially I was worried...I loved him instantly, but he sure was strong! He had a lot of strange habits and ways. For instance, I found that if I took Zeke jogging with me, he would walk like a "good dog" after 2 or 3 miles. Rain or shine, any time of day or night Zeke was ready to run with me. It was a great arrangement, and he was a great dog. Last winter Zeke had a stroke and died. I miss him and his various quirky ways. One day I'll help rescue another boxer... until then, thank you for continuing your mission with the Boxer Rescue and for helping other people to find the "right dog for them"!

Elayne, what you are doing is great! I only came across this site beause I have been wondering about YOU personally! I have always loved your specials and used to laugh so hard when I'd hear you saying something I had just remarked to my friends. Whether it was about being single, dealing with boyfriends, or dealing with parents! AND YOU ARE GETTING PAID FOR IT!!! lol But, it's still funny no matter where I said it or heard it first! You are STILL one of the best comediennes I have ever heard! Hope to catch your act if you are ever in the Columbus area! Until then,I will keep waiting for another tv special.

I preferred your adoption site 2-3 weeks ago. I liked when you could read about how the dogs ended up at your rescue shelter. These pictures seem fake and sort of put on. I do not think people will see these dogs as dogs in desparate need of homes or as the troubled, sad scared, abused, and neglected dogs that they sadly usually are. What about fostering? There does not seem to be info on this at this site. Just an observation. You do wonderful work. I hope to help out soon.

I loved your description of what a boxer truely is. You couldn't be more accuarate. The next time some one says,"Why a boxer?". I'll send them to you. My sister of 12 years, just recently passed away, and I'm still crying over the loss of her. Princess, was the best gift my family ever recieved. I was working at a pet store during High School when she stole my heart. My mom came by one day, and I had to show her the MOST PRECIOUS dog. Well, not wanting another dog, my mom brushed me off. "Yaeh, yaeh Sarah she's cute-save your money." Save your money - was all I heard. I put her on layaway, gave up 3 weeks of my paychecks, and brought her home. Mom was napping, when I got home, but suddenly awoke when she heard that my brother and I were getting along. She knew that meant trouble, usually against her. Not more than five feet of the back porch, as mom starts to ask what were doing, here comes this long legged gangly, akward running, grinning dog around the corner and right into her lap to plant a big kiss. To this day, mom says is was love at first slobber. Through out the past 12 years, mom has confused my with the dog, "Sarah - Princess, whatever your name is." She was by far the most preciuos thing. Mom says it will take at least three dogs to fill her shoes. She truely was a member of our family, we didn't go any where without her, even if dad had run out for quick errand. Besides my Gran's passing, I have never seen my father nor my brother so emtional in my life. She truely become a member of the family. I love you Princess.

I lost my boxer 2 years ago to cancer, but it brings a smile to my face to see the dogs up for adoption & being adopted. Some of the boxer smiles reminds me of my boy. Keep up the wonderful work!

I love boxers. I had a female white boxer that earlier this year ran away. She was deaf and the people who gave her to us did not tell us because they wanted to get rid of her. Adopting her was the best thing we ever did. She was so smart and funny. We miss her alot. Right now we are in the process of putting cement along our fence so that our next set of boxers cannot dig their way out. I hope to adopt by the summer of next year. Hopefully 2 white female boxers! Thank You I love what you are doing for the animals
