Hello again! I contacted you in the summer regarding my wish to adopt one of your lovely Boxers. Circumstances forced me to wait until now...actually Christmas. I know a dog is not always the wisest Christmas present. The recieptent however is my boyfriend and not a child. We both want one and I would love to give him this present. I am a Boxer fanatic. I have a 7 year old female brindle. She is a love. She is such an affectionate dog. When I made the decision to get one 7 years ago, I had contacted a rescue place first and was discouraged on getting one since at that time my son was just 2 yrs old and that it wasn't a good idea to get one since he was so young. I decided obviously to purchase one through a breeder. I don't regret this decision one bit. They are best friends. They sleep together, she has a wonderful temperment and has never intentionally hurthim, though she lets him know when she has had enough, but not in a mean way. She isn't our first one. When I was younger we had a white one that was just days of being destroyed. Two other white ones from the litter had already been destroyed. Her name was Susie. She kind of looked like Petey, the Little Rascals dog. She had a half white/brown tail and a brown spot on her head and around her eye. I loved her too, unfortunately she succumbed to lung cancer. Anyway , I had seen Elaine Boozler on Good Day L.A. this morning and had to hit this website. Thank you so much for this rescue and the next boxer I get, you can bet it will be a rescued on. We have had our boxer "red" for aprox. 5 years. We first saw him while visiting a friends house. He was just a pup and was tethered in a yard next door to our friends. We observed him being abused by the children who lived there and also could tell by his current living arangements he was miserable. Our friend called us one day because he had gotten loose and was wandering the street. We quickly went over there and nabbed him up! The first year was hard because he was cowed but we soon gained his trust. He is part of our family. We adore him. He makes us laugh everyday by his actions! I just wanted to tell you our boxer story. I think your site is great. Never for one day have I felt guilty about stealing "Red". Too many people get boxers because the look "bad" or "tough" and once they have them they ignore them. Boxers are not for looks they are an addition to a family and should be treated so.

Keep up the good work. It breaks my heart to see all the beautiful dogs with no homes to go to, not only on your website but so many other sites all accross the country. With all the information on boxers and all the other breeds via the internet, shelters, etc., that people still get a dog without checking it out first is just madness. I can't imagine my life without my two guys. I wish I could do more..........
