Max and I wanted to thank you for making a wonderful connection.
I came to you in November of 2004. I had been looking
for a companion for 6 months up to that astonishing
day. I had walked several dogs that day at Boxer Rescue and
did not feel the connection I was looking for. It had
been 14 years since my childhood pet had passed away
and I knew I was going to be looking for something
special. I just didn't know what.
It was around two hours and several dogs in when Haze brought out Max (then known as Blanco). He was white and all so friendly...I knelt down to pet him and he leaped into my bent knee and started licking my neck & face. I knew that he was the one! I found out before walking Max (Blanco), that he was completely deaf. I knew that I had to walk him and see if this would be something that I could deal with. Max and I walked down the block where I still found it hard to believe he was deaf. I called to him and whistled....nothing. I knelt down
again next to him sitting at the end of the block.
The deafness didn't seem to bother him so I figured it shouldn't bother me. I adopted Max that evening and took him home.

Max and I have been pals since. We have traveled together and shared many adventures. He makes a great model for pictures.
Thank you for bringing us together.
