HAPPY ENDINGS: RUFUS

[CLICK TO RETURN HAPPY ENDINGS]

A happy ending to a very special Boxer: Rufus was one of the first featured Boxer in Need on the BRLA website.

He is a young vivacious boy who is completely blind. His story touched many people and there were numerous inquires about Rufus. With some expected bumps and lumps in the beginning, Rufus has now settled into his forever home. Below is a note from Maddie, who with her mother have given Rufus the home of his dreams.

Dear BRLA,
I had to write and tell you about Rufus as I love talking about him! He is just a delight. Rufus is very, very talkative. He loves to play and will bark and bark in the morning to get me out of bed. I will never need another alarm clock.

No one can tell he is blind. He follows my 2-year-old nephew around when he visits to keep him safe. He is also very protective of me, which my mom thinks is just great. He will not let anyone near me if my mom is not around. He does not have to see to know what's going on. His other senses give him all the information he needs.

He loves people and greets them with his silly bark. We say he has a lick-lick button because as soon as he gets near anyone, he has to lick them because he can't see them…he prefers to "taste". He is a curious guy and very nosey.

He can be very laid back, but when he hears his leash, he comes running and whining to go for a walk
.

He makes himself at home on all of our furniture, which makes my mom nuts. She buys him very expensive doggie pillows and beds but he likes our stuff better. He does not like his bath so I have to get in with him (which he likes). He sleeps with me on my twin bed at night. Rufus is a bed and cover hog! I love him and will never ever do without him. He is my best pal and since I am an only child that is really important.

Thanks for giving Rufus to us, he makes our family complete.
