. Ruby has been getting nicely acclimated to our home. There are still daily trials and tribulations but overall she is the Ruby "grapefruit" of our eye(s)! You see, contrary to the popular belief that she was TWO years old Ruby is actually 8-9 months old. So she is a big dog with full blown puppy attitude. And yes, as I mentioned she will forever be known as the dog who stole Christmas, apparently she has a fondness for ornaments. But everything is tucked away in the house (now) and Ruby and my belongings can safely reside together. We are still working on training her to love the cats and not want to romp with them. They are still separated and will remain so until I know she can be 100% trusted. But I must say she is coming along rather nicely. She is learning basic commands and how to properly walk on a leash, which is very difficult for the "energizer bunny"! Riot, our australian shepherd mix, absolutely loves her. He is having a blast as he is also a very energetic dog. It so happens that Riot was also 8 months old when he got him and it was the same issues with him so we just remind ourselves that there is hope. He is now an exemplary dog in our family. In fact we didn't realize how great he was until we welcomed the Ruby into our home.
She is an energetic, loving, fun, sweet, social dog and we are completely lucky to have her! Thank you for saving her for us, we are thrilled!
