HAPPY ENDINGS: Mabel

[CLICK TO RETURN HAPPY ENDINGS]

Just a quick update on Mabel.  She has gained 5 pounds and her appetite continues to be really great.  She is more fun every day. She plays hide-and-seek and slides all over the wood floors.  She plays with her squeaky toys and carries them around in her mouth all over the house.  She entertains all of us.  Mabel is learning to control her impulses when visitors arrive, she is still a work in progress and she is improving every day.  Mabel is still enjoying her morning runs and afternoon walks.  She is easily redirected and easily distracted when she starts to pay too much attention to other dogs during our walks.  There has been No lingering, or lunging or attack behavior directed at other dogs (or people) recently.  Mabel still visits with Milton and there seems to be no animosity between them.  Milton woudn't tolerate rude behavior from Mabel, after all, Milton was trained by Joe!  Miltons manners are very instilled.

We have taken Mabel to the beach 4 or 5 times.  She loves it!  She chases the birds and has no problem running into the waves.  I worry about sand getting into her ears because of the way they are cropped so we clean them out thoroughly (and she cooperates like a lady.) So we know she enjoys the ocean and isn't afraid of the water.

Mabel is still sleeping on my bed, in spite of the fact that I KNOW she should not be on the bed and I KNOW she belongs in her own dog bed on the floor.

We love Mabel. She belongs in our family and I believe she is quite happy with us.  We spoil her terribly and we can't help it.  She is incredibly sweet, tries so hard to please us and she is so affectionate.  Mabel is acting more like a puppy than a 5 year old kennel weary boxer.  We thank you again for taking care of this boxer and keeping her safe until we all found each other!
