Jacko is a handsome classic Boxer who is looking for a leader.  He has nothing but love for the people in his life. He did not previously get the opportunity to be fully socialized with other dogs and has settled happily into an only dog lifestyle. Never say never as with the right owner Jacko can become social. Jacko would benefit from being your only pet in the home so he could focus on his studies.  He is medium sized and looking for a loving human partner that will share both adventures and learning opportunities in life.

Jacko's previous owners were devastated when they lost their home and could not take him to their downsized accommodations. They wanted us to know about their boy and provided this insight to let potential adopters know about their Jacko:
Jacko is a playful, super smart 5 year old boxer who needs a loving home.
He loves to go on walks around the neighborhood so much so that when he hears the word "walk" he breaks out into an excited dance. He loves attention and is very friendly and playful with people. He prefers people to other dogs. He's primarily an indoor dog as he's sensitive to extreme heat, but he likes to go outside to play often. He's very energetic and loves playing with his toys; especially ball and tug of war! He would be the perfect playmate for a family with older children, or maybe an active couple/single. He has no problem with being bathed outdoors, but likes to play with the hose and be brushed afterwards. He is house broken and is used to being let out in the morning, afternoon and evening. He will stand by the door if he needs to be let out at any other time; I'm sure he would just love a doggie door. He is well-behaved and would make a great companion.

Fast forward: Jacko has been working with some amazing BRLA volunteers, The Mentors,and shows his softer side now. He is fine with dogs in public and is excellent on leash walks. He knows his commands and is quick to respond to handlers wishes. Jacko loves to cuddle and provided he is your one and only he will give you his whole heart and more.
