Candy is a sweet, spunky girl. If she wasn't a cool & sassy senior boxer, she’s be a box of red hot candy that you couldn't buy at any old store. She’s got the personality and energy of a young gal, but the know-how of a girl who’s been around the block a few times. Her former owners must have tried to make her look as rock n’ roll as possible with her ears. We find it to fit her personality and wouldn't’t want them any other way. This gal will remind you with
her soulful eyes that it’s time to take a walk, and reward you along the way with her spunky energy.
Update: 2/11: It was just after Candy's photo shoot with Shine Pet Photography that we got the bad news that Candy has cancer. Our vets at first volunteers free chemo but realized it would not do any good and Candy would be better off and far happier simply living out her final time without toxins in her system. We are looking for someone willing to take her into hospice care

Candy came to BRLA over a year ago with another dog. While she waited, which older dogs can for awhile, she became less tolerant of dogs and that did not help her chances. Our volunteers love Candy and spend lots of quality time with her out in public around other dogs and she is now doing great. We feel that she could co-exist with the right calm dog given the chance.
It's not just anyone willing to let a dog with limited time on this earth share their home, it's a true hero, a true humanitarian and a true angel. Candy is currently very robust and could have many many months left to enjoy life to the fullest. Please don't let her spend these final opportunities of life in a kennel. BRLA will support her to the end. We just need a hospice foster to step up for Miss Candy.
