Brownie is a little girl but she has a big heart and is very protective of her family and home. Protectiveness usually stems from insecurity. Brownie is not only insecure, she is very shy and frightened. She needs the right home with patients and leadership to help her come out of her shell. She will connect with one person in the family and kind of shut everyone else out. She needs to learn tofeel safe with everyone all the time.
She seems to feel more relaxed around some dogs. The saying there is safety in numbers holds true in the canine world as well. We feel she should go into a home with another dog which is what makes her most confortable. With Brownie, it's going to take time, love, patients and persistance. She will come around in the right environment.
Brownie handles well with our staff and volunteers. You can see that she respects a leader and will do well in a home that provided the structure she needs. Soon this tense little girl will be able to wiggle her butt again. Until she feels secure an adult home is best for our sweetie pie.
