Lucky Dog: Pixie

I adopted my little Pixie last October and I just wanted to take a minute to share the love.
She is doing great! We have become best friends completely joined at the hip. She’s regained her health and put on about 10 lbs. She’s perfect.
Being a working dog, she is my right hand girl. My girl Tuesday is really what I should call her. She comes to work with me every day (here she is on the steps in the office) and helps me hold down the fort. She greets all who come into my office and makes sure all of the other dogs in the office respect their boundaries and keep it in check. She also entertains us in meetings and occasionally sings on conference calls. She’s a regular executive in training!

At home she’s the best pal a girl could have. She keeps the yard free of strangers in Venice and the living room free of the sweeper...she wants to do that herself, thank you very much. For fun,, she springs to the highest heights to try to catch the birds and squirrels in the trees.. Each day we get up and run on the beach where she does her typical break down of zoomies and spins. She charges me and chases the tides and the swell birds who skim the water’s edge. Once she tried swimming out with the surfers but soon learned her lesson that the ocean is not a place for just any old boxer. She looked at me from within the waves with an ‘oh my god’ look in her eyes. Now she sticks to the shoreline. We have a lot of time at the dog parks around town too. She’s become friends with lots of the dogs there..especially the pit mixes, rottweilers, labs and anyone who runs fast and lets her chase. Her favorite dogs do seem to be the little guys who she protects...especially the little French bull dogs. Her best friend is named Peru and they play together all the time. She’s figuring other boxers out and does best with them privately and most definitely off leash. It’s kind of a trip to see the boxers play together. Some day we will get another one to keep Pixie busy and give me extra love.

Most of all, Pixie is my best friend. My dear mother passed away this past February and at the same time I had just had some surgery...so I was not my normal self. Pixie was a terrific nurse maid. If she could have, she would have made me dinner and done the laundry for me so I could rest. She most definitely supported me with lots of love and kisses. She’s quite the snuggler! She’s a loving, sweet boxer girl who would do anything for me. I am so grateful to you for all that you do. Thanks for rescuing her and bringing her into my life!
Lots of love,
Amy & Pixie.
