LOOSING HIS LEG SAVED HIS LIFE!
BOXER RESCUE GOT A CALL FROM AN OWNER (SHELTER REFERRAL) THAT HE HAD AN INJURED DOG AND COULDN'T AFFORD THE VET BILL AND NO LONGER WANTED THE DOG SINCE HE ALREADY HAD A BOXER HOME AND THIS ONE WAS GIVEN TO HIM .....

LITTLE MAX WAS A SHY LITTLE GENT, ABOUT 10 MONTHS AND KEPT OUTSIDE ...ON A MONDAY MORNING HE FOUND MAX INJURED IN HIS YARD... "A VERY BADLY TWISTED AND MANGLED FOOT" ....
WE TOLD HIM TO DROP MAX OFF AT OUR VET . ...THEY COULD NOT
BELIEVE THE SEVERITY OF THE INJURY ...(MAYBE HIT BY CAR .... MAYBE CAUGHT BY FENCING .... WHO WILL EVER KNOW!)? HE SPEND DAYS BEING HOSPITALIZED TRYING TO SAVE HIS FOOT .... TO NO AVAIL AND IT WAS SADLY SUGGESTED TO AMPUTATE THE LEG. WHILE UNDER SURGERY HE WAS NEUTERED AND AT THE SAME TIME DISCOVERED THAT THE INTESTINAL TRACT HAD WRAPPED AROUND AN UNDESCENDED TESTICLE!

HAD WE WAITED ANOTHER WEEK MAX WOULD HAVE BEEN DEAD ACCORDING TO DR. CRAIG WHO PERFORMED THE SURGERY. WHAT A MIRACLE THAT HE DID COME TO US WHEN HE DID! AND WHAT A BLESSING THAT WE COULD SAVE HIS LIFE WHILE HAVING TO SACRIFICE HIS LEG!
HE IS STILL A BIT SHY AND IS MAKING HIS HOME WITH FEONA AND MARDI (LONG TIME DEDICATED BOXER RESCUE VOLUNTEERS AND OWNERS OF AN ADOPTED RESCUE BOXER) WHO STARTED OUT FOSTERING AND HE BECAME SO MUCH PART OF THEIR LIVES THAT THEY COULDN'T PART FROM HIM ....

WHAT A LUCKY GENTLE GUY...
