We held a contest and Mookie won hands down for the Best Snagletooth Boxer. Many of you out there have seen her hilarious snaggletooth photo on the BRLA website for quite some time now. Yes it’s true, Mookie has been waiting longer than most for that perfect home she longs for. The upside of her being with us so long is that we know almost everything about this perky 3-4 year old girls and we love her. We think you will too once you have heard her story.
Mookie came to BRLA a few years ago. She ended up in North California, she went up there a wonderfully happy go lucky Boxer Girl. She sadly had to endure a shock collar and was finally (thankfully) sent back to us. She was a changed dog. The shock collar made her unsure and afraid. Mookie began to lose trust in other dogs and in people. That was her then, and now thanks to K-9 Joe and his team, Mookie is that happy go lucky Boxer again. She still prefers to be the only dog in your home, but she loves, freely and in a very big way. She adores people of all sizes and is totally trustworthy will all humans.
Mookie did get adopted not long ago and they loved her personality. They were gone most of the day and Mookie was left alone for far too long. They returned her so that she could get a home where someone is home more as that is what makes Mookie the happiest dog ever. She is great with kids and has excellent house manners.
Mookie does have one quirky habit, she likes to hump. She never does it in an aggressive fashion, but she does get great pleasure in trying to hump people. If you don’t embarrass that easily and can say NO with some force, this will not be a problem. Mookie just knows how to get a party started.
She is has been with BRLA for most of her adult life, which is not long as Mookie is between 3 & 4 years old. She is a calm girl and would never think of jumping on little kids or fragile people (humping maybe…but jumping never).
Mookie has been one of the star students of the K-9 Joe training facility at BRLA. She is everyone’s favorite and loves her free time roaming the grounds and hanging out in Charlie’s café. Mookie is one of the start members of the BRLA swim team. She minds well and loves her treats. In fact Mookie would do just about anything for a cookie. When you have a treat in hand, she is a focused as can be and will do whatever you ask. Being food driven is an excellent training tool.
Mookie is fantastic on a leash and ignores other dogs in the outside world. She is happy having just people as her companions. She is a great family dog for anyone who knows that one dog is plenty and is lucky to get all the attention. She is a great dog for someone who works from home or can take your dog to a work place where she will be the only executive dog. Mookie would make an awesom personal assistant helping you run errands, pick the kids up from school and make sure the kitchen floor is crumb free.
Mookie has been with BRLA way too long. It’s her time. She has put in the work with our team and she is 100% trustworthy and loving with people of all sizes. Come and meet our Best Snagletooth Boxer and see how clever and fantastic Mookie really is.
